Final exam schedule
Study day
Study days are reserved for students to prepare for upcoming examinations. Please note that exams may NOT be given on the Study day.
Final exam schedule
The final exam schedule provides dates and times of final exams in general purpose classrooms. Classes scheduled to start before 8:30 a.m. and at/after 5:00 p.m. will hold final exams in their regularly scheduled classroom at their regular meeting time during the final exam week, limited to their scheduled class time. Classes regularly scheduled on Wednesday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:59 p.m. will be scheduled individually.
Group/Common exams are usually used for large courses where all students take the same exam, regardless of which section they are enrolled. Examples include introductory classes, language classes, and survey courses.

Asynchronous sections
Exams are expected to be asynchronous and may not be scheduled in-person and/or on campus. Instructors may open their exams anytime after the study day and must close the exam period no later than the last day of the published schedule.
Synchronous/Hybrid/Traditional sections
The published schedule should be used. Hybrid sections have the option of holding their exams online or in-person.
Scheduling conflicts and accomodations
Exam scheduling priority
In situations where conflicts exist between final exams, the group exam always takes precedence, followed by the regular final exam schedule, then any individually scheduled exams.
Multiple exams on the same day
Students are not required to take more than two exams in one day. A student with more than two scheduled final exams on one day may (not must) petition to the instructor of the course with the lowest number students enrolled to arrange an alternate time for the final exam. Such petitions must be presented to the instructor as early as possible, but no less than one week prior to the scheduled date of the final exam.
Religious holidays
Because of the extraordinary variety of religious affiliations of the University student body and staff, the Academic Calendar makes no provisions for religious holidays. However, it is University policy to respect the faith and religious obligations of the individual. Students with classes or examinations that conflict with their religious observances are expected to notify their instructors well in advance so that mutually agreeable alternatives may be worked out.
Testing accomodations
Students who are registered with Student Disability Services (SDS) and who are approved for testing accommodations should submit their exam requests to Student Disability Services at least one week in advance of the final exam. Federal law requires that a student registered with SDS is entitled to the reasonable accommodations specified in the student’s accommodation letter, which might include allowing the student to take the final exam on a day or at a time different than the rest of the class.
